What can I expect on the day?

At Excape we aim to offer you true escapism during your time with us. From the moment you arrive, we will provide a warm welcome, lockers to securely store your personal items, and a few mind bending puzzles and riddles to get you started! When you enter the room, your brain cells will be tested and you’ll need to work with your team to stand a chance of getting out in time. When you’ve escaped (hopefully!) our host loves to chat about what you found hardest, easiest, most fun etc! On the day of your escape game, please arrive 10 minutes before your booking time, so you can be fully briefed on your experience before you enter the room.

How many people can we have in a team?

Our games are designed for between two and eight players. This ensures maximum enjoyment and participation although we should warn the smaller teams of 2 and 3, our rooms are challenging with a lot to do! Please call us if your group size is bigger than eight and we will try our best to book you in for the same time so you can compete to see who escapes in the quickest time! Will we be sharing with another group?

No, your escape experience is exclusively for you and your team members. We will never add other players to your group . . . your booking . . . your time!

How do I pay for the game?

If you book online, you can pay with a credit or debit card via Stripe. If we have arranged for you to pay on the day or you have any outstanding charges, you can pay by cash or card.

Can we bring more players then we have booked for?

If you want to bring extra people with you, please let us know as soon as you can. You can bring additional people on the day so long as you do not exceed the maximum number of players allowed for your chosen room.

How do I redeem my gift voucher?

When you come to make your booking, please enter the 16 digit code on your gift voucher and the value of your gift voucher will be redeemed against your total booking value. If you have one of our old vouchers without a code, please give us a call on 07843 575113 or email info@excape.co.uk and we will get you booked in.

Are there any age limits? Is it suitable for kids parties?

Our rooms can be enjoyed by a wide range of ages but anyone aged 14 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult in the room, to ensure that props do not get broken. 15-16 year olds may enter the Escape Room unaccompanied but a responsible adult must be on site at all times (there is a waiting area with refreshments and puzzles to keep you entertained!). Escape Rooms are technically aimed at adults, they are challenging, and it’s not uncommon for a team of 6 or 8 adults not to escape! Therefore, we have to warn a group of children that it may be too challenging for them. There is the option to ask for clues, and some puzzle minded children may get on great, but some groups of children may find it frustrating and disappointing if they do not escape. If you are considering it for a child’s birthday, we would suggest explaining this to them. For some younger children, they may enjoy the experience more with older family members, as opposed to a group of friends who may find the rooms too hard.

Can I add anything extra for special events?

When you’re with us, we may have the odd costume item to help you get in the mood, but if you’d like to bring your own or go all out with dressing for the occasion, we strongly encourage it! If you’d like us to include anything in the room (helium balloons, banners, presents, cards or even an engagement ring!) we are more than happy to, we just need you to drop off the item/s in advance of your game. We also have an online shop where you can purchase party favors and Excape t-shirts. Finally, if your group is bigger than 8, we will be happy to divide you across multiple games and can arrange for you all to arrive and play at the same time. Are you Covid safe?

In light with government advice, we have done everything we can to make the Excape premises Covid safe and as such, have earned the ‘We’re Good to Go’ tourism industry standard. Upon entry of our building, please use the hand sanitiser in the entrance area. You are welcome to wear your face mask (but it is not currently mandatory) and if you would like your host to as well, please ask. We have disposable gloves available to wear in the room if you would like. Please ensure you sanitise your hands upon exit of the building.

Can I play if I am pregnant? Or have a disability?

While our games are perfectly safe and do not require excessive physical strength, we are based on the 2nd floor of our building, and are only accessible by stairs which sadly may be prohibitive for some.

Can I play if I am claustrophobic?

Our rooms are quite spacious so should not trigger any feelings of claustrophobia. However, if you do feel you need to leave the room at any time during your experience, our staff will happily let you out or we can even leave the doors open while you play if you would prefer.

What if I need to leave the room during the game?

If you feel unwell during the experience or need to leave for any reason, please let your host know and they will let you out. In the event of an emergency, all doors will automatically open.

Do you have parking?

We don’t have our own car park as we are based in the centre of town. However, we are a very short walk from the train station and there are two large car parks within a 5 minute walk: London Inn Car Park (town centre) and Imperial Car Park (train station).

What if we are running late for our booking?

Your booking time is the start time of your game so please arrive 10 minutes before your booking time for a briefing and to ensure you get the full 60 minutes of your time slot. If you are running late, please call us on 07843 575113 to let us know as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate you, although if you enter the room late you may have less time to play the game. If we are unable to run your game due to you being late, we will offer you the chance to postpone to another date, but a £20 fee will be charged. If you are 20 minutes late or more and have not contacted us, then the game will be treated as a no show and the money will not be refunded.

Can I cancel once I have booked?

If you can no longer make your booking, please contact us with at least 24 hours notice and we will be happy to reschedule your game. If a team has to cancel or reschedule a booking within 24 hours of their game time, this may result in a fee of £20 being charged. Likewise, if the group is running late for their game and has not been in direct contact with Excape, then the game may be cancelled and not refunded.
